Sub-Tasks Control
The Sub-Tasks control allows you to build a list of sub-tasks that will be displayed with a check box for each sub-task.
This is designed to be used in situations where you want a simple list of sub-tasks to be completed within a parent task.
The Sub-Tasks control consists of the list of sub-tasks you build and a label. The label should be used to inform the user of the type of data being displayed.
Add to the Template
The Sub-Tasks control can be added from the controls toolbar in the Template.
Once you have added the control you must set the label text that will be displayed above the list of sub-tasks.
You can then build the sub-tasks to be displayed in your Sub-Tasks list.
When the Sub-Tasks control is first added to the form it does not have any sub-tasks. A blank text box is shown. Enter the text for your first sub-task in this text box.
To create new sub-tasks simply press your 'Enter' key whilst you have an existing sub-task selected. The new sub-task will be created below the currently selected sub-task.
To delete a sub-task you must delete all text and in the text box and then press your 'Backspace' or 'Delete' key to remove the sub-task.
You can create an unlimited amount of sub-tasks for your Sub-Tasks control.
You can require that all sub-tasks in the list be completed before the parent task can be completed. To do this check the "Is Required?" checkbox.
Use in the Checklist
The Sub-Tasks control displays in the Checklist as below.
Validation
When a Sub-Tasks control is marked as required we will perform validation when the user completes the task. We will not allow the task to be completed until all the sub-task check boxes have been checked.
Validation error messages are shown below the Sub-Tasks list.
If you try to complete a task outside of the checklist (e.g. from the Dashboard) and it fails validation we will notify you of the validation failure via a pop-up message.
